Volunteer applications are open!

as well as applications for vendor and artist booths, find them all on the main website:

www.senshicon.org

We’re looking for fun, friendly volunteers, cosplay is allowed! Prior experience isn’t necessary as there are many positions available where there are friendly alumni who can teach you how to do everything you need. At least check it out, and you can help out with AK’s biggest convention.

!Update on ticket sales!

We now have them up and available to buy on our own website: www.senshicon.org , there are only 4 VIP tickets left! Also, we also have added a donation button, we would appreciate any help we could get in potentially bringing in bigger guests, hosting bigger events and the like! Check it out if you’d like to.

I would like to share a video that shows you some of the members of Senshi-Con’s Events Team. The Events Team works really hard to schedule panels, plan events, create and host games, and so much more! You will surely see the Events Team in action during Senshi-Con 2013. But for now, enjoy the video!

This is Katie Tiedrich’s website, Awkward Zombie. On the left-hand side of every page, a small box labeled “appearances” lets her fans know when she will be visiting various conventions. When I saw that she published Senshi-Con’s name on the list, I just got so excited. I couldn’t miss getting a screenshot of it.

This is Senshi-Con 2013’s official flyer! I love the colors, I love our special guests, I love the location, and of course I love Aurora Dordan’s mascot. This is just going to be a fantastic year for Senshi-Con: I can feel it!

Devan Simpson, the 3rd-place winner in Senshi-Con 2013’s Mascot Competition, drew fanart of Aurora Dordan’s winning entry! How cool and amazing is that? I just couldn’t NOT share this! Thanks Devan for the cute fanart!

Last, but not least, I am pleased to present our 3rd-place winner for Senshi-Con 2013’s Mascot Competition. This is the work of Devan Simpson.
Devan’s design does a good job of capturing some Alaskan elements. Her character is a wolf, which is a common animal in Alaska. Her character is wearing furry clothing, which hints at the need to use animal furs in order to stay warm during the winters. I also like the nod Devan made to Senshi-Con’s name: Senshi means warrior, and Devan’s character seems to be a warrior!
Though Devan and Aurora (our first-place winner) produced very different pieces, I find it interesting to compare the two. Aurora and Devan both used the Alaska Flag in their designs. They also gave their characters very short dresses, despite the cold Alaskan weather! To make up for the dress length, both of them lined their outfits with fur.

Now it is time to give some love to our other top choices out of the entrants for Senshi-Con 2013’s Mascot Competition. This is the artwork of Taylor Hall. This is pretty cute, I have to say! Taylor Hall won 2nd place. Stella, Taylor’s character, looks like a really cute combination of a “magical girl” and an Alaskan Native. Great concept!

This is horribly delayed, and I apologize for that.
This, of course, is the artwork of the talented Aurora Dordan. She won first place in Senshi-Con 2013’s Mascot Competition, which means her art will be/is in your program books, on the tickets, on Senshi-Con’s website, and more. I am personally a fan of Aurora’s work, and I never miss an opportunity to congratulate her.

Regular Posts

Sad to say, but we at Senshi-Con have been neglecting our Tumblr page. I am trying to fix that, though. What kinds of posts would you like to see besides standard announcement posts? I do not just want to spam “reblogs” of images, because everyone does that. I want this page to promote Senshi-Con, but I need some feedback from our fans. I really want to hear from you, so please don’t be shy!
