Senshi-Con 2012 ArtGallery
Rules & Instructions
A great place to show off your work to all attendees! Make a print of your best piece or something new just for the convention, and bring it in to display for all con-goers to see!
Please read through all instructions and rules before bringing your art to the convention.
Where is the ArtGallery?
The Art Gallery is located on the stage in the Artist’s Alley, on the top floor of the convention building.
Who can display in the ArtGallery?
To be eligible to participate in the Art Gallery, the artist must purchase entry into the convention. You may not bring art on behalf of someone else. You may indicate at drop-off if someone else is allowed to pick up your art, but they must also have purchased entry to the convention.
What can we bring for display?
Art must be of a comic, illustrative, or manga/anime nature and of the submitter’s creation. Fanart, original characters, and comic pages are welcome.
No adult material is allowed; all pieces must be pg-13 or lower. No coloring pages, tracing, or copies of other artwork are allowed. Senshi-con reserves the right to disallow art displays as it deems necessary.
The maximum size for artwork is 8.5”x 11”. Pieces will be placed in a protective sheet and mounted on the gallery wall. Please do not mount your piece on cardstock /board or shrink wrap them.
A maximum of 2 pieces may be accepted from each artist as space allows.
It’s HIGHLY recommended that you bring a print of the work you would like to display; original art will be accepted, but isn’t advised, especially as we cannot mail pieces back to you. Keeping the original for your portfolio and having a print made at a print shop like Kinko’s or at home on your printer is a good idea!
When will the displays be up?
The Art Gallery will be up for the duration of the weekend. Specific times to bring and pickup your art are below. Art is also accepted from Alley members at sign-in on both days. You may leave your work overnight Saturday if you plan to pick it up the next day. All art must be picked up by the closing of the convention on Sunday, September 30th.
SATURDAY
DROP OFF 12pm to 4pm PICK UP 8pm-9pm
SUNDAY
DROP OFF 12pm to 2pm PICK UP 6pm to 9pm
How do we participate?
To display your work in the Art Gallery, bring a print of your piece to the Art Info booth in the Artist Alley during the times specified for drop off. There will be an Artist contact card you may fill out with your name and website to display next to your work.
Art may be picked up at or after the pick up times.
Liability
Senshi-con is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged art. We will hold your artwork until the convention closes on Sunday at 9pm.
Questions and concerns may be directed to Claire McKay, Art Coordinator at cmckay@senshicon.org
